It's during a trip to Europe that Béatrice and Jean-Paul Burgun decide to enter the watch business. The couple wanted to design and create their original watches, and the story of Pierre LANNIER began… in their dining room!
Launching of the first collection in jewellry stores
The first collection was unveiled in Strasbourg.
The first international steps
Well implanted in France, Pierre Lannier goes for Japan. It's the beginning the international adventure ! Canada, United-States, Germany and East Europe are the first to know the brand and its know-how.
Expansion of Pierre Lannier
Pierre Lannier accelerates its expansion : Argentina, South Africa, Dubaï, Serbia, Portugal, … Stores are opened in Japan or Albania.
The first Pierre Lannier employees
At the beginning of the 80s Pierre Lannier's premises were still in the Founder’s house. Based on the success and rapid development, a new workshop was built ... that time in the garden and 12 persons were part of the adventure.
Relocation of the Pierre Lannier offices ... and still in Alsace
The employees are moved in the brand new offices, which are still the same, many years after.
The success of Pierre Lannier's Design
>These were the years of successful collections, such as the Miluna collection in the shape of a half-moon, which won the gold dial award in 1993 and established Pierre Lannier as a leader on the French watch market.
The sporting commitment of Pierre Lannier
Jean-Paul Burgun wishes to commit himself to great sportsmen such as the tennis player Cédric Pioline who becomes the muse of the brand. Watch collections will be created in tribute to his victories.
Pierre Lannier x David Ginola
Involvement in sport is very important for Jean Paul Burgun who decides after the commitment with Cédric Pioline to sponsor David Ginola, French foot-ball player.
Pierre Lannier wins the Watch of the Year award
A milestone for the brand : its French know-how and values were rewarded in 1998 with the Watch of the Year award. The prize awarded to the Pierre Lannier Cédric Pioline chronograph Collection watch and confirms the company's position as leader in the French watchmaking market.
Pierre Lannier's Workshop in Madagascar
Inauguration of the 2nd production workshop, in Tananarive, Madagascar, to support the company's growth.
The first international Pierre Lannier Campaign
« Who is this Pierre » is the first international TV campaign! Advertised in France, with this slogan Pierre Lannier is among the top 10 best-selling watch brands in France.
Performance and Know-How
Pierre Lannier becomes official watchmaker of the FFBB (French Federation of Basket-ball). When watchmaking performance meets sports performance, it offers a partnership full of creativity. Several collections face a great success.

Evidence collection is the first PIERRE LANNIER men's automatic watch collection with a mechanism which is no longer open-heart or skeleton, but with a power reserve. This collection assures Pierre Lannier's place as a leader in French watchmaking.
The 45th Anniversary Watch
To celebrate its 45th anniversary, we launched a limited edition automatic watch 100% manufactured in France named 1977. A worthy heir to Pierre Lannier's French watchmaking expertise, it is labeled Origine France Garantie.
Focus on the Paddock Collection
Today a bestseller of the House and available in many colors, red, yellow, pink, green, the Paddock skeleton watch for Men draws its design strength from the automotive world, notably the brake caliper of sports cars.
